Coaxial Filter Bags

Coaxial Filter Bags

A coaxial filter bag is a special filtration design used in gas cleaning filters. It consists of two concentric (coaxial) cylindrical elements made of filter material: an outer bag of increased diameter and an inner cylinder.

In fact, it is a filter sleeve where part of the filtering element is located inside the bag itself. This design allows a significant filtration area to be achieved with a relatively small height of the filter element.

Purpose

Coaxial bags are used in filters for cleaning air and process gases in cases where the structural height of the filter does not allow the use of standard long filter bags.

Main purposes:

  • placement of a large filtration area in filters with limited height
  • use in compact or low-height filtration units

Construction

The coaxial bag consists of:
  • an outer cylindrical bag of large diameter
  • an inner filtering cylinder
  • upper and lower fastening elements for installation in the filter
  • seams made with heat-resistant thread
The inner cylinder is positioned along the axis of the bag and forms an additional filtration surface. Due to this, the effective filtration area increases significantly.

Application Features

Coaxial filter bags are used in filtration units where it is impossible to install standard filter sleeves with a length of 3.5–5 meters due to height limitations of the equipment or building. In such cases, the coaxial design allows the required filtration area to be achieved without increasing the height of the filter.

Materials of Manufacture

Coaxial filter bags are manufactured from the same materials as standard filter sleeves for baghouse filters, including:
  • polyester
  • polypropylene
  • M-aramid (Nomex)
  • PPS
  • PTFE
  • fiberglass
The choice of material depends on the gas temperature, chemical composition of the medium, and dust characteristics.

Manufacturing and Ordering

Production is possible based on a drawing, sketch, photo, or on-site measurement. If required, we design the joint individually for the operating conditions. Submit a request for consultation or quotation
